Vetorphic (butorphanol tartrate injection) is indicated for the relief of pain associated with colic in adult horses and yearlings. Clinical studies in the horse have shown that butorphanol tartrate alleviates abdominal pain, associated with torsion, impaction, intussusception, spasmodic andtympanic colic, and postpartum pain.
